Supporting Local Children’s Workshops

Many schools in rural Thailand do not have the budget for hands-on educational experiences, but we believe every child should have the opportunity to learn where food comes from.

Through our children’s workshops, students learn the journey of cacao, from pod to bean to chocolate and most importantly experience the joy of making it themselves.

When visitors join our paid workshops, it helps subsidise these experiences for local Thai children and schools.

Each of our workshops will give you an insight to the farming life in Loei, you might even get to meet one of the local grandma’s that help around the farm! We always use locally-sourced products. You arrive to a truly peaceful place just outside a rural town where the birds and bugs are always chirping. It’s the perfect get-away if you’re looking for something off-the-beaten-track in an authentically Thai area.

Eco Printing workshop

Cacao Stories on Cloth: At Onederland, the cycle of Cacao does not end with chocolate.

Using the crops and forest, you can tell the story of cacao on your clothing with eco printing.
– Select the items you wish to print on.
– Choose the flora you like, provided by the guider wander into our garden to choose your own.
– Get hands-on experience at each step of the eco printing process.
– Get creative, and decorate your items any way you like. Choose a base colour, or stick with the natural colour of the fibers.
– Produce 2 wearable items

Vegetarian Cooking Workshop

Experience the flavors of rural Thailand using fresh ingredients from our garden, local markets, and mushroom farm.
At Onederland, cooking is more than following recipes, it is about understanding the connection between food, farming, culture, and community. Focus on simple, nourishing vegetarian dishes Thai home cooking.
– Harvest fresh herbs, vegetables, and mushrooms from the farm
– Learn about Thai herbs, spices, and seasonal ingredients
– Discover traditional cooking methods and local food culture
– Prepare authentic vegetarian Thai dishes together with local cooks
– Use natural materials such as banana leaves for wrapping and plating

Depending on the season and available ingredients, dishes may include fragrant curries, spicy salads, herbal soups, mushroom dishes, and traditional Thai sweets.

Get your hands dirty as we take you through the whole mushroom-growing process:

1-Day Workshop Package

In our one-day course, you’ll get a hands-on glimpse into Thai farming and where some of your favorite products really come from. We’ll kick things off with the first workshop in the late morning, followed by a tasty Thai lunch together. In the afternoon, we dive into the second workshop, and to wrap it all up, we’ll take you on a relaxed tour around our Onederland farm. Simple, fun, and full of good vibes.

2-Day Onederland Package

Our 2-day package is the full Onederland experience—deep, hands-on, and immersed in nature. You’ll take part in three workshops: two on the first day, and the third on the morning of the second day, giving you even more time to learn, create, and connect with local life. Along the way, you’ll enjoy Thai lunch and dinner, take a relaxed Onederland Farm tour, and spend the night surrounded by peaceful countryside. In the morning, we’ll share a homemade breakfast before giving you a ride back to Loei or Chiang Khan. With a bit of luck, you might even spot some local wildlife during your stay—everything from colorful birds to curious lizards.
